"in 1987 the author of these notes was invited to represent The Christadelphians in a debate in which he was to deny the proposition that "Jesus Christ is the Second Person of the Trinity". In preparation for the debate it was necessary for him to re-examine carefully the various passages of Scripture, which those who believe in the Trinity employ to support the view that Jesus Pre-existed as god the Son, co-equal, and co-eternal with the Father. After the debate it was suggested that the results of this exercise might be useful to others. The notes were therefore published and made available by the organisers of the debate."
